Learning Support Assistant

Salary: Up to £25,874 (Pro-rata based on hours and term-time only contract)

Employment Type: Full-time, 1-year contract with chances of becoming permanent

We are seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our inclusive education community across two distinct departments. Whether you are experienced in supporting high-needs learners or providing general classroom assistance, we have a place for your expertise.

These roles are about more than classroom assistance; they are about empowering students to master the skills they need for life. You will be a key point of support, blending patience with strategy to ensure our learners are ready for the world beyond the college gates.

Responsibilities:

  • Student Advocacy: Act as a key point of contact for learners, navigating complex profiles with patience to ensure "every small win" is a step toward success.
  • Curriculum Support: Work alongside teaching staff to ensure each learner's specific package of support is integrated into their daily educational experience.
  • Adaptive Communication: Simplify complex concepts and engage learners who may face significant barriers to education.
  • Inclusive Practice: Maintain a safe, nurturing environment where differences are respected and valued.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record (or a profound desire) to support students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, or high-needs learning disabilities.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Resilient individuals with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn.
